Practice Profile

Central Avenue Surgery Practice List is currently closed to new patient applications. This is in agreement with Ayrshire and Arran Health Board.

Each of our consulting rooms are accessible to patients using a wheelchair. We also have a parking space reserved for patients displaying a disabled sticker.

Ardrossan Health Centre holds a strict no smoking policy anywhere in the building.

Practice Catchment Area

About Our Services

The Partnership consists of all the GPs in this practice. Together, as Central Avenue Surgery, we have a contract with NHS Ayrshire & Arran Health Board and are contracted to provide, as part of its core services:

  • Cervical Screening;
  • Contraceptive Services;
  • Maternity Medical Services;
  • Limited Minor Surgery Procedures.

We have a contract with the Health Board to provide additional services for:

  • Anticoagulation;
  • Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Devices (IUCD);
  • Contraceptive Implants;
  • DMARD Monitoring;
  • Ring Pessary changes.

Nursing Students

On occasion, we may have student nurses undertaking training within the practice. Patients are at liberty to request the student nurse does not take part in their consultation.

Referral for Further Treatment & Investigation

From time-to-time, our GPs may feel it appropriate to refer you to see a specialist consultant at one of the local hospitals.

The specialist will review the GP referral letter and decide on the urgency.
