These appointments are ideal to discuss medication, results and hospital letters. Please be aware these appointments are for 5 minutes only and the Doctor does not have time to discuss anything else.

Central Avenue Surgery

Access to the Surgery is limited and a buzzer entry system has been installed. Social Distancing measures are in place. Do Not Attend the surgery in person unless advised to do so, please telephone 01294 463838 in the first instance.

Appointments at the Surgery – Non-Coronavirus Symptoms

We cannot offer routine face to face appointments but you can book a routine telephone appointment instead. These are available to book up to 2 weeks in advance. If clinically necessary during the telephone appointment, the GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner will book you a face to face appointment with them at a mutually convenient time.
If your contact is urgent and cannot wait for a routine appointment, please telephone the surgery between 8:30am and 10:30am, Monday to Friday, where you will be added to the urgent on-the-day triage list. Be prepared to give details and a telephone number. A Clinician will call you back and discuss your urgent request. This could be from a withheld number so please answer. If you are given an appointment, attend alone at the time of your appointment. The Clinician will be wearing full PPE during the consultation and it is advisable that you wear a mask/face covering to attend the health centre.
A Video Consultation might be arranged instead. The Clinician will decide which is more suitable. Click here for the instructions on how to access a pre-arranged video consultation.
We also have a Community Link Work and Mental Health Practitioner working with the practice via telephone appointments. If you need financial advice, have employment concerns or feel stressed or anxious, we can arrange a telephone appointment. Just phone and ask for an appointment.

What to Do If You Have Coronavirus Symptoms

If you have any of the symptoms of the Coronavirus (Covid 19), you must not attend the surgery. Please access www.nhsinform.scot for advice if you are well enough to manage your symptoms. If you are unwell, please dial NHS24 on 111 at anytime.
The Scottish Government has arranged testing for anyone who has symptoms. You can book online at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/get-a-test-to-check-if-you-have-coronavirus/ or by calling 0800 028 2816.

Prescription Requests

All prescription requests must be made by telephone (after 11:00am) or online via this website. Your prescription will be sent to the pharmacy of your choice for collection there. Allow up to 3 working days for collection at the pharmacy. We cannot turn around prescriptions in one day. It is impossible due to the numbers of prescription requests we receive and we cannot issue scripts at the reception desk. Footfall at the health centre must continue to be reduced due to social distancing guidelines.
